This new and official state flag of Utah went into effect in March of 2024. The original flag was used for over 113 years. The standing governor explained the meaning of the new flag as a rallying point for the citizens of Utah, identified by the colors and symbolism. The colors represent the state's beautiful blue lakes and dark blue skies (Blue color), the peaceful mountainous landscape (White Mountains), and the unique red rock boulders of the state's south (Red color). The center symbols of the beehive and hexagon show the state's strong sense of a hardworking and unified community. Finally, the eight-pointed star is a callout to Utah's eight strongest Tribal Nations. The gold color also represents hope and wishes for a powerful future. ⚠ Prop 65 WARNING
